Happy New Year from the staff and students at DAHY, home of the Soaring Eagles.
Although this has been a year like no other, we continue to push forward with the purpose of meeting the needs of our students academically, socially, and emotionally. With the help of our community partners, Corn Hill Association, Memorial AME Zion Church, and First Genesis Baptist Church we held our first annual coat, shoe, and boot give-a-way. We were also successful in providing over 40 families with food baskets, hats, and gloves for the holiday season. We are grateful to our community partners for the continuous aid that allows us to support students and families.
As we move into the new year, we look forward to preparing students for upcoming assessments and working with our newly established student government on planning upcoming events. Staff will be engaged in various professional development to aid in the support of student achievement.
Finally, if approved by the district, we will gain Grade 6 for the coming school year.
