Report from School #3

~ By Deborah Washington, Principal, Nathaniel Rochester Middle School #3

We made it!!  Thank you to all of our staff and community partners for their support and generosity to our students and families during this challenging school year.  Although this was very different for all of us, we were able to adjust and adapt to the changes and make the most of an unusual situation.

In June, we graduated over 100 8th grade students and are pleased that they will be attended various high schools throughout the city and county.  Best of luck to each one of them on their future endeavors.

For the upcoming 2021-2022 school year, the Rochester City School District will return to school five days a week for in-person learning following the three-foot social distancing restrictions. Our 7th and 8th grade students will receive direct instruction from their teachers five days a week, as Wednesdays will no longer be asynchronous.

A 100% remote learning option is also being offered to accommodate families who do not feel comfortable sending their children back to school in person.  The building will be open for the summer, as a summer school program is being housed in the building. The first day of school for students for the 2021-2022 school year is September 8, 2021.

We look forward to welcoming students back but, for now, enjoy your summer.
