clarissa uprootedThis weekend would have been the 25th Clarissa Street Reunion (Keep your eyes out for it in 2021!)   The stages will not be up this year, but Clarissa St. will not be silent;  she never has been!

Teen Empowerment is so honored to join with the Clarissa Street Reunion Committee to release our virtual world premiere of Clarissa Uprooted: Youth and Elders Uncover the Story of Black Rochester on this coming Friday, August 21.  Teen Empowerment Youth History Ambassadors interviewed 8 elders last summer (including several of you!  thank you!!) and hosted the Youth Stage at the 2019 Reunion.  Some of what we all learned along the way is expressed in this short documentary produced by RCTV with its Youth Media Team.

In case you are interested, you can listen to conversations about the project you have been part of on these Connections with Evan Dawson shows.

We hope that since Clarissa St. friends cannot be together in person this year, you will join your friends virtually to interact with this intergenerational take on what the Clarissa St. experience teaches us about why Rochester is the city & region it is today.

Information is below.  PLEASE SHARE FAR & WIDE….  (since it’s virtual, anyone around the world could watch 🙂   JOIN US ON THE VIRTUAL LITTLE THEATRE’S LIVE LINK FRIDAY at 6:30pm!

The very best to you from the entire production team.  We hope you and yours are feeling healthy and empowered.
