Monday, March 11 7:00pm

Michael D Mendoza MDThe Corn Hill Neighbors Association (CHNA) is pleased to present Dr. Michael Mendoza, Commissioner, Monroe County Department of Public Health, who will speak about the opioid crisis and will conduct an Opioid Overdose Prevention Training at our March General meeting. Each person in attendance will learn how to administer the single step Narcan and also how to utilize Narcan standing orders in pharmacies. A prevention kit will be provided to all participants.

The fight against opioids and opioid overdoses is the number one issue affecting medical professionals and citizens across our country, including here in Rochester. Whether we know a family member or a neighbor who has struggled with this addiction, there has been no neighborhood in our city that has not been affected by the opioid crisis.

Fortunately, our County’s Public Health department has developed an effective action plan to address this crisis. Part of this plan includes outreach to communities and schools within the city and across the county. This outreach provides our neighborhoods not only with the facts about opioids but with an effective and simple weapon to prevent overdoses.

On behalf of the CHNA Board of Directors, I encourage all Corn Hill residents to attend this important meeting! Come out and join your neighbors on Monday, March 11 at 7:00pm at the Landmark Society’s basement conference room, 133 S. Fitzhugh Street.

We look forward to seeing you.
