CHNA Sunday Gazebo Concerts, August 2015

Corn Hill GazeboDuring the month of August, the CHNA Social Committee will present four exciting concerts at the Lunsford Park Gazebo.

Concerts begin at 4 p.m. and conclude by 7:30 p.m.

Bring your lawn chair, blanket, picnic supper, etc. and invite your neighbors and friends.

August 2nd: Amanda Ashley

Singer-songwriter Amanda Ashley is a national touring/recording artist from Long Island, NY.  Amanda began playing live as a teenager and decided to make it her life; she completed a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in 2007 from Fredonia State University and is currently based in Rochester. Amanda can be found frequenting the Western NY music scene as a soloist and in a duo and TRIO. Her Trio’s 2014 Album release “Metamorphosis,” the most recent, is one of three independently released albums from this artist.

In her quest to find balance between art, music, and a passion for community, Amanda has founded Local Visionaries, an organization that strives to acknowledge and create innovative opportunities for young, emerging talent within the Western NY region.

August 9th: Dan Lopata with the Genesee Johnny Trio

The Genesee Johnny Trio is currently made up of Aleks D. on Guitar, Dan Lopata on bass and John Sacheli on vocals. The band has branched off from its strict revival of Mississippi Delta Blues and now incorporates blues, folk, early country and rock and roll. They are comfortable performing at places like The Beale and Sticky Lips BBQ.

August 16th: Marty Roberts with Donny C.

Marty is a local singer/songwriter, born in Rochester. He is a regular on the local music circuit and can be caught laying down summer vibes at places like Schooners, Marge’s Bar and Hedges with his friend Donny C. on congas. Marty has made three CDs to date: “First Time, at Last,” released in 2002; “Second Chances,” released in 2004; and “3rd Times a Charm,” released in 2012.

August 23rd: Fatima’s Mosaic Journey

Fatima was born in Mostar, Bosnia and currently lives in Corn Hill and has a BS and MS from RIT in Information Technology. Fatima has a lifelong passion for music and dance and was recently heard performing at Rochester’s 4th of July Main Street Fireworks Jam! An accomplished piano player, as well as being a singer/songwriter, she has assembled a band that includes Jimmy Highsmith and is recording her first album, due out in 2016.
