RIT Downtown Campus 50th Reunion Special Walking Tour

October 19 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

rit downtown rochester campus

Fifty years ago this year RIT, closed the last of its downtown buildings and moved to their current Henrietta campus.

The downtown campus will be celebrated during RIT’s homecoming this year, with a special walking tour of the old downtown site on Friday, October 19.

Self-guided walking tours of the old Main Street campus will begin at 1:00 p.m. on that date. At 2:30 p.m., there will be a ceremony and the unveiling of an historic marker near the Bevier Building, 42 South Washington St., just north of the pedestrian bridge.

The Bevier Building was originally built for the School of Arts and Design for the downtown RIT campus.

Volunteers from the RIT 50th Reunion Committee will be putting up temporary lawn signs in front of some of our Corn Hill homes that were significant to the downtown RIT campus. RIT alumni and friends are encouraged to walk through Corn Hill after the dedication at the Bevier Building.

Corn Hill residents are encouraged to meet and talk with the alumni as they walk through our beautiful neighborhood. This will be a great way to share stories of old and new times.
