It’s that time of year again, when Rochestarians collectively go out and celebrate the Genessee River. River Romance is this weekend and it’s packed full of activities honoring the natural beauty of Rochester and the Genessee River. The City of Rochester, MVP Health Care, CITY Newspaper, Visit Rochester, and a host of community organizations are sponsoring an array of river-related activities and events to the community.
Running from Oct. 6 through Oct. 9, River Romance this year again offers a cornucopia of events and activities focused on the river’s ecology, economy, history and future that will both inform and inspire. All activities and events are free unless otherwise noted.
River Romance will kick off on Friday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. when Mayor Richards and other dignitaries officially open River Romance weekend at Erie Harbor (205-405 Mt. Hope Ave.), the exciting new residential development on the riverside!
