The Rochester City Council will host a public input forum to discuss on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. The event will be held at City Hall in the Council Chambers, and Rochesterians are invited to provide input regarding the City’s Zoning Regulations concerning Outdoor Public Storage.
Legislation submitted to the Council regarding Outdoor Public Storage in February 2015, has been held in Committee for further review. As part of the review process City Council is reaching out to constituents in an effort to gather further input on this policy. The proposed legislation is an attempt to address problem properties that create hazards to neighbors and create unsanitary conditions in neighborhoods.
“Citizen input is essential in forming policy that effects the condition of our neighborhoods. We want to ensure every neighborhood in our City is clean and safe for all citizens, and we will work with members of the community to make sure that happens,” said Councilwoman Carla Palumbo, Chair of the Neighborhood and Business Development Committee.
Individuals wishing to speak at the forum do not need to sign up in advance. Here is a link to Int. No. 2015-74, also here is a link to the proposed amendments that the Council is considering to the original legislation on Outdoor Public Storage. Anyone wishing to share their input on Outdoor Public Storage who is unable to attend the public input forum may email [email protected] or call (585)428-7538.
